Sony plans to release a subscription service of all-in-one video games in the style of Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass, which will include three different rates whose prices would be between 10 and 16 dollars.
‘Spartacus’ is the code name of this service, which will be available both in PlayStation 4 (PS4) like in PlayStation 5 (PS5) and will allow Sony console owners to pay a monthly fee to access its catalog of titles and other digital services.
As reported by Bloomberg a few months ago, the Japanese company plans to launch this service in spring and will merge with it PlayStation Plus, which hosts most multiplayer games, and PlayStation Now, where older titles can be downloaded.
Now from VentureBeat they have reported that the prices of the three Spartacus subscription programs would be between 10 and 16 dollars.
In order to access the first level, it will be necessary to pay 10 dollars per month, while the subscription for the second level would be 13 dollars and the ‘premium’ would have a price of 16 dollars.
The most basic subscription would include the existing benefits of PlayStation Plus. The second would offer a wide catalog of PlayStation 4 games and, eventually, PlayStation 5.
Finally, the third level would be made up of extended versions, streaming of games, trials of certain titles, and a library of classic games of the three previous PlayStation models, as well as of PSP.
When Bloomberg advanced this information in December, he indicated that, with ‘Spartacus’, Sony would phase out PlayStation Now, although the PlayStation Plus service would be maintained.
