GreenWay Hrvatska intends to install at least 300 fast chargers for electric vehicles in Croatia in the next five years, it was announced on Thursday from the company, which today is located along the route of the future expressway Varaždin – Ivanec – Krapina opened two bottling plants.
“In the next 5 years, on a turnkey basis, at no additional cost and with guaranteed earnings for site owners, we will install a minimum of 300 fast and ultra-fast chargers, with connected power from one hundred to 400 kilowatts ( kW)”, said the director of GreenWay Croatia and member of the board of directors of the GreenWay group Dino Novosel.
He says that within the recently approved strategic project Cross-E, a minimum of 16 ultra-fast hubs will be set up by the end of 2026, while TEN-T corridor, with a minimum connection power of 600 kW and with a total of 64 high-power connection points (greater than 150 kilowatts).
He believes that it is an ambitious but realistic plan.
Two ultra-fast filling stations opened today are located in the Mipcro Retail park, along the route of the future expressway Varaždin – Ivanec – Krapina. They are installed and connected to a 300kW connection, each with a nominal power of 150kW and two connections, which enables simultaneous charging of up to four vehicles.
Depending on the vehicle’s specifications, an electric car on them can charge its battery up to a range of 100 kilometers in eight minutes.
GreenWay reminds that the share of renewable energy sources in traffic at the EU level in 2022 was 9.6 percent, and in Croatia 2.4 percent. The EU has set a goal of 29 percent for the year 2030, and in the draft of the updated Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan of Croatia, a goal of a 21.6 percent share of RES in traffic by 2030 has been set.
Croatia, with 34 electric charging stations per hundred thousand inhabitants, is currently 20 times less developed than the most developed Netherlands and three times less developed than the EU average, according to GreewWay
