Chromebook Plus with new artificial intelligence features

Google announced that Chromebook Plus now offers new artificial intelligence features. Available starting at 449 euros, this device allows users to write like a pro, refine ideas, edit photos and much more. One of the main new features is “Help me write”, an AI-powered tool that provides instant suggestions for titling blog posts, creating engaging content for social media or changing the tone of text. This tool can also create texts from scratch or reformulate existing content. Currently only available in English, it will soon be launched in Italian too.

Another innovation concerns backgrounds for video calls. Thanks to built-in generative AI, users can create custom backgrounds for any video conferencing application. Google offers a series of prompts to help you get started, allowing you to choose between fun, professional, or relaxing backgrounds. Google Photos Magic Editor comes to Chromebook Plus, allowing users to easily edit photos. Simply select an image, use the Magic Editor to edit the desired object, and enhance the light and background with just a few clicks.

For those looking for inspiration or planning assistance, Gemini is now available right on the Chromebook Plus home screen. This feature lets you chat with Google’s AI to plan trips, write or learn new things. In addition to the new features for the Chromebook Plus, Google has introduced a number of improvements for all Chromebooks. These include simplified setup using your Android phone to share Wi-Fi credentials and Google accounts, Google Tasks integration to easily manage tasks, and a new tool for taking screenshots in GIF format.

The new Game Dashboard then improves the gaming experience, allowing you to assign controls to the keyboard and play mobile games directly on the Chromebook. Among the upcoming features, “Help me read” with Gemini will allow you to summarize websites or PDFs with a single click, while also providing answers to questions posed by users. Also new will be the activities overview, which will show everything that was open in previous windows and tabs, making it easier to resume activities. The “Focus” mode will allow you to concentrate on specific tasks, automatically activating the “Do not disturb” mode and monitoring your progress. Additionally, hands-free controls and AI-assisted facial and gesture tracking will be introduced, further improving the accessibility of Chromebook devices.
