CARNET and the Center for Missing and Abused Children will cooperate on a safer internet for children

In order to increase the safety of children on the Internet and educate young people about the safe use of technology, the Center for Missing and Abused Children and CARNET have signed an agreement on cooperation in the counseling center of the Center for a Safer Internet.

– With this agreement, a new era of cooperation begins with the aim of increasing the safety of children on the Internet and educating young people about the safe use of technology. The signing of the agreement is an important step towards creating a safer online environment for children and young people, as well as strengthening joint activities in the area of ​​prevention of abuse and disappearance of children – said the Center.

As part of the cooperation, CARNET will provide technical support and resources to the Center for Missing and Abused Children, and the Center will use its many years of experience in working with children and young people to develop innovative educational programs together with CARNET. and initiatives.

The goal of this collaboration is to empower children and young people with the knowledge and tools necessary for safe and responsible use of the Internet, as well as to support parents and teachers in their efforts to protect children from various dangers that may appear online.

The counseling center of the Center for a Safer Internet was opened in March of this year, and more has become a key place for providing support and advice to parents, children and teachers. Since 2015, the Center has been a member of the international organization Insafe, which coordinates the work of the Helpline, a free advisory line of centers for a safer internet throughout the EU.

The advisory line is intended for parents, educational workers, workers in the social welfare system and children for difficulties related to the digital world. The number of the telephone line is 0800 606 606, and it is available every working day from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

In addition to the advisory line, the Center also runs a Hotline for reporting illegal content such as material with sexual abuse of children, hate speech, racial and other discrimination, which can be reported anonymously by filling out the form on their website.
