Elon Musk assures that Optimus, his autonomous robot, is already working in Tesla factories |  TECHNOLOGY

In 2023, Elon Musk presented Tesla’s humanoid robot, Optimus Gen 2. According to the businessman, at least two units of them already work in his companies’ factories.

However, Musk has not specified in which factory they have been implemented or what tasks they specifically perform.

Last April, in a call for investors, The businessman assured that Optimus could carry out certain jobs related to manufacturing by the end of the yearthere was also talk about a possible launch for the end of 2025.

It could perhaps be a pilot implementation program to test the robot in real work environments.

Some facts give us clues. For example, in February, Tesla posted a video of Optimus walking around the lab and in May, another of the robot sorting and classifying stacks of documents. In September of last year, the company published other videos reflecting the Optimus Gen 2’s ability to self-calibrate and physically classify colored blocks into their respective trays.
