– Croatia and Slovenia are important markets in Central and Eastern Europe. We notice that more and more consumers are interested in modern NVMe drives, which are much faster than older SATA drives. In 2024, in Croatia, for every 100 discs sold from both categories, there were 55 discs from the latest generation. Our focus is not only on SSDs. MicroSD cards are finding new applications in an increasing number of devices, such as drones or action cameras. I am very pleased to announce that in the third quarter we will introduce two new cards, both with a capacity of 1 TB – said Maciej Kamiński, head of Samsung Memory for Poland and CEE.

In the third quarter of 2024, 1 TB microSD EVO Plus and PRO Plus will be available in Croatia and Slovenia. The new cards will contain eight layers of eighth-generation 1-terabit (Tb) V-NAND within the microSD format, achieving a high-capacity package that was once possible. only in SSDs.

The new 1TB microSD card passes the most rigorous industry tests and offers reliable use even in challenging conditions, with features such as protection against water, extreme temperatures, drop resistance, scratch protection, as well as X-ray protection and magnetic protection.

Samsung also presented its predictions for the memory card market. As a result of the increasing use of drones, action and digital security cameras that capture images of ever higher quality, their sales will continue to grow by 2026 and will reach 44 million pieces per year in two years.
