YouTube revolutionizes search: you will soon be able to search for videos on Android with just an image |  TECHNOLOGY

YouTube is implementing a new functionality in its search bar of the Android application, which now incorporates the button for the Google Lens image recognition application and is located next to the microphone option of this service.

Google Lens is a visual search application available on Android, iOS and Desktop that recognizes and analyzes images through the mobile camera or from a photo saved in the device’s gallery.

Although this service already has its corresponding shortcut in the bar of its search engine on mobile phones and in its web version, Google has also decided to bring it to the YouTube search engine, as 9to5Google recently warned.

Specifically, the firm would have enabled this button in the YouTube search bar for Android terminals, next to the microphone button that allows you to search for content using voice commands. In this way, once the new button is pressed, the Google Lens camera automatically opens.

As soon as it recognizes content, it will offer the available options that it considers match the search carried out once it has identified the text or image of the photo, as usually happens with this ‘app’, powered by recognition technology. Optical Character Characteristics (OCR).

The 9to5Google portal has indicated that this feature has not yet been implemented globally, so it only appears on the devices of some users who have logged in with the same account.
