ECUP Gamer Tournament, the event eSports largest amateur in the country, returns in its third edition with a prize pool that exceeds 35 thousand soles. This year, the tournament organized by the Technological University of Peru (UTP) expands to four popular video games: DOTA 2, ValuingEfootball and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, offering a unique opportunity for Peruvian gamers to demonstrate their skills and compete for incredible prizes.

The tournament will begin with a virtual phase at the beginning of July for participants from the UTP headquarters in Chiclayo, Huancayo, Chimbote, Piura, Ica, Arequipa and Trujillo. The semifinals will be played in these same cities, while the grand final will take place in Lima.

The winner of the individual Efootball tournament will take home the sum of 7 thousand soles, while the champions in the other video games will receive 10 thousand soles per team. In addition to cash prizes, winners will gain recognition and visibility in the Peruvian eSports scene.

“At the Technological University of Peru we recognize the potential of the gaming world and we are committed to its development,” said Alejandra Rojas, Director of Employability at UTP. “The ECUP Gamer Tournament is a platform for Peruvian gamers to demonstrate their talent and compete in a professional environment. In addition, we seek to promote teamwork, healthy competition and the development of new skills in our students and in the gaming community in general.”

In addition to the tournament, UTP will offer its students and the gaming community various activities to promote professional development in the field of eSports and video game development. Among these activities are gaming workshops, informative talks, alliances with companies in the industry and the organization of events.

Registration open to the public

Starting June 13, registrations for the ECUP Gamer Tournament will be open to the general public for free. Those interested can register on the official website of the tournament: https://www.utp.edu.pe/evento-ecup.
