X will limit live broadcasts to Premium subscribers | TECHNOLOGY

X (former Twitter) has announced that the ability to carry out live broadcasts will be exclusive to users subscribed to the Premium version of the social network, so it will “soon” no longer be available for free.

The social network owned by Elon Musk has a function that allows you to transmit live video content to share it with other users in real time, as other platforms allow, such as YouTube, Twitch or Discord. In this way, according to the company, users have an option to share everything from “breaking news” to “big live events”, all from their account.

Currently, this feature is an option available to all users of the platform, regardless of whether they use the app for free or have a subscription. However, X has announced that it will “soon” begin to limit it for users subscribed to the Premium version of the app.

This was detailed by the microblogging social network in a publication from its ‘Live’ profile, where it explained that only Premium users will be able to create live video broadcasts, also those that are made “from an encoder with integration in X.” .

That is, now, to be able to stream live content, users will need to have at least a subscription to X Premium.
