Gemini to join ChatGPT in Apple’s strategy for Apple Intelligence, according to Bloomberg

Apple may announce a deal with Google to use its artificial intelligence (AI) technology, Gemini, in its products, Bloomberg reported on Sunday.

Earlier this month, Apple announced its own free AI for its products, which will be called Apple Intelligence, as well as the partnership with OpenAI so that its assistant Siri can access ChatGPT to answer users’ questions later this year.

Bloomberg highlights this Sunday that The bitten apple company will announce “at least” one AI company to add another AI to its system and if it’s not Google’s it would be Anthropic.

The media outlet does, however, rule out a merger with Meta, “because it believes that OpenAI, Google and Anthropic offer superior services.”

Last Sunday, The Wall Street Journal reported that Apple was in talks with Meta, but today Bloomberg notes that the two tech giants met in March, but that a potential deal did not come to fruition.

Apple’s Intelligence capabilities will be an important test of whether the software can drive increased hardware sales.

Experts expect new AI features to be a centerpiece of Apple’s marketing for the upcoming launch of its iPhone 16.

Bloomberg also reports that Apple Intelligence, which was announced for Mac, iPhone and iPad, could also be coming to Apple’s augmented and virtual reality glasses, Vision Pro.

Although Apple is “actively working” to incorporate its AI into the device, the launch of this merger will not happen this year.
