UN adopts cooperation measure on AI

The 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly yesterday unanimously adopted a resolution, proposed by China and co-sponsored by more than 140 countries, on strengthening international cooperation in developing artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.

The measure emphasizes that the development of artificial intelligence must adhere to the principles of focusing on human beingspromote beneficial intelligence and benefit humanity.

It also encourages international cooperation and practical actions to help countries, especially developing ones, strengthen the development of their artificial intelligence capabilities, expand their representation and voice in the global governance of this tool, defend an open, fair and non-discriminatory business environmentand support the UN in playing a central role in international cooperation.
