Siri will incorporate artificial intelligence functions in 2025, according to Mark Gurman

Apple will launch new AI-powered features in its Siri smart assistant for iPhone next year, 2025, through the iOS 18.4 operating system update, Mark Gurman recently revealed.

The company announced it would be updating its assistant with AI-powered features on June 10 at the World Wide Web Developers Conference (WWDC), where it unveiled its Apple Intelligence ecosystem.

Siri, which was launched 13 years ago and currently handles 1.5 billion voice requests a day, will be more closely integrated with the system experience and will introduce new language and gesture comprehension capabilities, the company said.

These “proactive” capabilities were initially scheduled to arrive via the upcoming iOS 18 operating system update, but will be delayed until 2025, as Apple analyst Mark Gurman recently warned.

The journalist has indicated that it is “likely” that these AI-powered features will be offered through beta tests for developers in January, and then debut officially in the spring of next year.

This will be possible thanks to an update to the operating system of the smartphone it manufactures, iOS 18.4. However, Gurman has announced that other functions such as the new design of the assistant or its integration with ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI, will arrive at the end of this year.
