Samsung Still Believes in Foldable Smartphones and Powers Them with AI

Samsung continues to believe in the foldable smartphone market and equips its Z series – in the Flip and Fold versions now in their sixth edition – with Artificial Intelligence.
Samsung introduced AI in the Galaxy S24 earlier this year, and now it wants to maximize AI capabilities for communication, productivity, and creativity on its foldable phones.
The eighth-generation Snapdragon processor is Optimized for AI processing on a series of functions and tools designed for using the big screen.

Samsung Notes offers the possibility to take advantage of translations, summaries and automatic formatting for meeting notes.

The built-in transcription feature allows you to write out, translate, and summarize voice recordings directly in Notes. Text in PDF files can be translated and overlaid when you open the file using the PDF overlay translation feature. The Keyboard Composer feature generates suggested text based on simple keywords for emails and social media apps like Gmail and Instagram.

For social media in particular, Composer create text that reflects the user’s tone thanks to the analysis of previous posts. As you hover your stylus across the screen, ‘Smart Selection’ further expands the S Pen experience by suggesting useful functions such as translating, adding notes, and when you sketch or draw on the screen, ‘Sketch on Image’ will generate several options for creating an image.
The Fold6 takes advantage Samsung’s partnership with Google and integrates the Gemini app, an AI-powered personal assistant right on your smartphone to get help with writing, learning, or planning tasks.

Gemini is integrated with several Google apps, allowing the user to simplify, for example, the organization of a travel itinerary, thanks to the real-time reception of information on flight and hotel reservations, suggesting visits to famous monuments and the best routes to get there using Google Maps.
The ‘Interpreter’ function allows both parties to view translations on the main screen and on the external display. It also offers one-way translation, so you can easily understand during lectures or other presentations.

The ‘Live Translation’ feature translates phone calls directly on your device in real time, both on Samsung’s native calling app and some third-party apps.

In the new Galaxy Z series, the dual-track hinge structure is supported by a reinforced folding edge, which better distributes the shock generated by external impacts and has an Armor Aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass Victus screen.
