Know the electronic devices prohibited on the plane: risk of fire

Traveling by plane can be easier if you know what devices electronics you can take with you. Not only will it save you problems at the airport, but it will also allow you to have a more comfortable flight.

Some electronic devices, especially those with large or damaged lithium batteries, can pose risks such as fires, which has led airlines to impose specific restrictions.

A report by Infobae reveals the list of banned devices. Below are the following:

  • Lithium batteries: Batteries over 100 watt-hours require airline approval and those over 160 Wh are not permitted. Loose batteries must be protected against short circuits and only in carry-on baggage.
  • Damaged devices: Damaged or defective devices should not be carried, as they may be dangerous.
  • Personal safety devices: Devices such as stun guns and pepper spray are prohibited in carry-on luggage.
  • Electronic cigarettes: They can be carried in hand luggage, but cannot be used during the flight.

Electronic devices allowed on airplanes

You can carry phones, tablets, computers, cameras, and wireless headphones in your carry-on luggage. Power banks and smart watches are also permitted.

Only devices with batteries installed, such as cameras and laptops, are allowed in checked baggage and must always be turned off.
