The Artificial Intelligence Center and Auxiliary Urban Area invested by FPT Corporation covers an area of more than 93 hectares, with a total capital of 4,362 billion VND, and broke ground on the morning of August 18.
The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Center and Auxiliary Urban Area Project in Quy Nhon in Tran Quang Dieu Ward and Bui Thi Xuan Ward, Quy Nhon City, is invested by FPT Quy Nhon Joint Venture, including three units: FPT Danang Urban Joint Stock Company, FPT Investment Company Limited and FPT Software Company Limited.

The project has three main functional areas: AI Center; Education and Training Area and Auxiliary Urban Area. In particular, the AI Center will be a place for research, training, software production, digital transformation support, providing solutions on network security, social security, and AI applications in life to improve productivity, quality and service value. The auxiliary urban area will ensure the provision of specific utilities of an AI urban area, attracting high-quality human resources, especially in the fields of high technology, new technology and AI.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, emphasized that this project is an important turning point in the province’s socio-economic development. This is also a testament to the province’s determination to grasp and apply scientific and technological achievements into practice, in line with the Politburo’s orientation.
According to the provincial leaders, since the 18th Provincial Party Congress (term 2010-2015) until now, Binh Dinh has always considered science and technology development as a breakthrough direction. During the 20th Provincial Party Congress, the province issued an Action Program on science and technology development, aiming to make Binh Dinh a destination for technology enterprises and scientists at home and abroad. The construction of Quy Hoa Science Urban Area and the AI Center – Auxiliary Urban Area in Quy Nhon is a clear demonstration of this determination.
Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of FPT Corporation, said that this project will contribute to attracting investment in the field of research, innovation and development of artificial intelligence following the trend of technology 4.0, towards the era of technology 5.0. The urban area will be built with modern, synchronous technical and social infrastructure, with the nature of an AI city.

At the ceremony, FPT Quy Nhon Joint Venture also signed a memorandum of understanding on handing over houses in 2025 to officers and employees who have made outstanding contributions to FPT’s development in Binh Dinh. At the same time, FPT donated 40 sets of computers to Binh Dinh Ethnic Boarding High School to support students in accessing new knowledge and technology.
Over the years, FPT has actively accompanied Binh Dinh in promoting digital transformation in all three areas: digital economy, digital society and digital government. The Group has also signed an agreement to establish a provincial planning for the period 2021 – 2030, with a vision to 2050, and a cooperation agreement to promote provincial digital transformation for the period 2021 – 2025, in order to contribute to soon making Binh Dinh the leading province in the country in digital transformation.
FPT currently trains about 2,000 students in Binh Dinh, with FPT University branch in Binh Dinh operating from 2021, oriented towards in-depth training in AI. FPT’s AI research and application center in Quy Nhon also continuously brings in million-dollar AI projects from abroad, while creating many job opportunities for workers in Binh Dinh and neighboring provinces.
