Up to a million people on the same video call: Zoom’s new feature for mass events

The video conferencing service Zoom has expanded the limit of its single-use seminars, which now support up to one million participants in order to adapt to larger events.

Zoom webinars connect a broadcaster with a large audience and are available in monthly and annual webinar subscriptions, but also as one-time or single-use subscriptions.

The single-use model has the capacity to accommodate 10,000, 50,000, 100,000, 250,000 and 500,000 attendees, and from this Monday also up to one million participants, as reported by the company in a press release.

With this expansion, “event organizers have the flexibility and power to deliver truly interactive experiences at an unprecedented scale and the ability to purchase large, single-use webinars,” said Zoom chief product officer Smita Hashim.
