Bolivia bombards with clouds to provoke rain and fight forest fires

“The meteorological conditions are favourable for stimulating two cloud formations in the area,” Deputy Minister of Civil Defence Juan Carlos Calvimontes told reporters.

The day before, the government of President Luis Arce declared an ecological pause, which prevents burning to expand agricultural land. It has also declared a national health emergency to request international assistance.

In Santa Cruz, the most populated region in the country and agro-industrial engine, There are more than 703 families affected and 21 homes were burned according to a report from the governor’s office.
