Hamas Expresses Readiness to Accept Biden’s Gaza Ceasefire Proposal

A delegation from the Hamas terrorist group, led by Khalid al-Haya, met in Doha with Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul-Rahman al-Thani and Egyptian intelligence chief General Abbas Kamal.

Hamas said in a statement that the meeting with the mediators focused on the situation on the Palestinian street and “Israeli aggression” against the Gaza Strip. The group thanked Qatar and Egypt for their mediation efforts.

“The delegation stressed that it is ready to show flexibility in order to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and achieve the withdrawal of Israeli troops, which will pave the way for the exchange of prisoners, the reconstruction of the Strip and the return of those expelled home,” the Palestinian Information Center quotes Hamas as saying.

The group also stressed its readiness to immediately implement the ceasefire agreement put forward by US President Joe Biden and UN Security Council Resolution 2735. According to the statement, it will not put forward new conditions.
