2. Bundesliga: Mees saves Münster’s thrilling 3:3 against Paderborn

Joshua Mees saved Preußen Münster from another defeat in the 2nd Bundesliga and saved his team’s 3:3 (1:1) draw in the NRW duel with SC Paderborn with a brace. However, the newly promoted team, who are still winless, are still stuck in the relegation zone with just two points. Paderborn, on the other hand, remained undefeated in their fifth game of the season and moved up to third place in the table.

In front of 12,762 spectators in the sold-out Preußenstadion, Mees equalized after a 2:3 deficit in the thrilling final phase (90th+3). The midfielder had already scored the first home goal for Preußen after promotion with the 1:0 in the 19th minute. Goals from Filip Bilbija (37th), Raphael Obermair (47th) and Adriano Grimaldi (85th) made the visitors look like sure winners, but substitute Holmbert Aron Fridjonsson managed to make it 2:2 (78th) before double goalscorer Mees saved the tie.
