German tourists off West African coast killed by shark

In the shark attack, Monday afternoon, the woman lost a leg. The Spanish emergency services were alerted that a “medical evacuation” was necessary. After a request to the Moroccan emergency services, they decided to send a helicopter and a plane of the Spanish army to come to the aid of the crew.

The helicopter arrived a few hours later, but the woman died of a heart attack while en route to hospital in Las Palmas, the capital of Gran Canaria.
