Macron called on Hezbollah not to escalate the situation

French President Emmanuel Macron held phone talks with Lebanese political and military leaders throughout the day, reports the press service of the Elysée Palace.

According to a statement issued by the French President’s Office, Macron asked the Lebanese leaders to convey his message to the leaders of “Hezbollah”, urging the group to refrain from further escalation of the situation.

• Commenting on the explosions of pagers and mobile radio stations in Lebanon, the leader of the Hezbollah group, Hassan Nasrallah, said today that “what happened on Tuesday and Wednesday can be called a declaration of war.”
• According to the updated data of the Lebanese Ministry of Health, at least 32 people were killed and more than 3,500 were injured as a result of the explosions.
