In Essen (NRW): 23 injured in accident with Oktoberfest shuttle bus

Essen (North Rhine-Westphalia) – They wanted to go out and party, but many of them ended up in the hospital instead!

In Essen (NRW) a fully occupied shuttle bus crashed on its way to a regional Oktoberfest was, collided with an Audi Q5 at an intersection. 23 people were injured! According to a police spokeswoman, nine of them had to be treated in hospitals.

The passengers in the bus were on their way to the so-called “RÜ Oktoberfest”, which takes place on the grounds of Essen/Mülheim Airport. According to the police, the car and the shuttle bus collided at a traffic light intersection.

One of the vehicles presumably ran a red light, the spokeswoman said. Further details about the cause of the accident, the drivers of the vehicles and the injured were not immediately known.
