Russia will not participate in the second peace summit on Ukraine

Russia will not participate in the second peace summit on the issue of Ukraine, which Kiev plans to hold until the end of 2024, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, announced.

According to him, the goal of the new summit is to “promote Zelensky’s absolutely unviable resolution as a non-alternative basis for the settlement of the conflict.”

Zakharova stressed that without Russia and “taking into account its interests” it is impossible to achieve a “fair and stable settlement”.

The Kremlin insists that Ukraine should withdraw its troops from parts of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions that Russia does not control, and also refuse to join NATO.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Kiev’s allies agree that it is necessary to invite representatives of the Russian side to the second peace summit.

“At the beginning of November, the whole plan will be ready, this will be the beginning and basis of talking with Russia in any format.

In any format, with any of his representatives, because there will be a plan and something to show,” said Zelensky.
