Pentagon announces reinforcement of its contingent in the Middle East

Against the backdrop of the escalation of the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, the United States has decided to strengthen its contingent in the Middle East. This was reported by Pentagon spokesman Pat Ryder, who specified that this is a “small group of American troops” that was sent as a “precautionary measure.”

According to the AP agency, there are currently about 40 thousand American troops in the Middle East.

In addition, the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman has set out from Norfolk toward the Red Sea. Its mission to the Red Sea was announced last week.
