Swedish prosecutors: Iranian hackers hacked mobile network, calling for revenge for Quran burning

Sweden’s Attorney General’s Office has accused Iranian authorities of sending thousands of messages calling for revenge last year after the burning of a Koran in Sweden.

Hackers linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps have allegedly hacked a local mobile phone network and sent out 15,000 messages in an operation said to be aimed at dividing society and portraying Sweden as an Islamophobic state.

In 2023, activists held several events with the burning of the Koran. In Muslim countries, this was perceived as a desecration of the holy book of Islam, and there were calls for revenge. It should be noted that during other demonstrations, the Torah and the NATO Charter were burned.
