The White House canceled the invitation of the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze to the prestigious reception of the UN General Assembly, as a sign of the deterioration of relations between the two countries, the US Embassy in Tbilisi announced.

The structure informed the Georgian service of “Azatutyun” radio station that all meetings with Kobakhidze’s delegation were also cancelled.

“The Biden administration has rescinded Prime Minister Kobakhidze’s invitation to the annual UN General Assembly reception and refused to meet with the Georgian delegation due to growing concerns about the Georgian government’s anti-popular actions, misinformation and negative rhetoric about the US and the West,” the embassy said in a statement. .
