Iran announced the end of the attack on Israel

Iran says it has completed its largest ever military missile attack on Israel, preventing further provocations, Reuters reported, while Israel and the United States threatened to retaliate amid fears of a wider war.

“Our actions will end until the Israeli regime decides to provoke further retaliation. In this case, however, our response will be stronger and more powerful,” Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in his message to X.

He noted that yesterday they took self-defense actions in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter, targeting only the military and security facilities in Israel, which are responsible for the genocides in Gaza and Lebanon.

“We did this after showing tremendous restraint for almost two months in order to make it possible to establish a cease-fire in Gaza,” wrote Iran’s foreign minister.

Despite calls for a ceasefire by the United Nations, the United States and the European Union, fighting between Israel and Lebanon-based Hezbollah continues.

Israel has resumed bombing the southern suburbs of Beirut, a stronghold of the Iran-backed group, carrying out at least a dozen airstrikes on targets it says belong to the group.

Tehran said Tuesday’s attack on Israel was aimed exclusively at military targets, calling it revenge for the killing of leaders of the Palestinian militant group Hamas and Lebanon-based Hezbollah, both designated as terrorist groups by the United States and the EU. :

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised to take retaliatory measures. “Iran made a big mistake tonight, and it will pay for it,” Netanyahu said.

The American news site Axios writes that Israel can target Iranian oil production facilities and other strategic places.
