Nearly 40 Palestinians die in a new raid by the Israeli Army in Khan Younis, southern Gaza

Around 40 people have died and several dozen have been injured due to a new incursion carried out in the last few hours by Israeli troops against the city of Khan Yunis, located in the south of the Gaza Strip, in the framework of the offensive unleashed by Israel against the enclave following the attacks carried out on October 7 by the Islamist group and other Palestinian factions.

According to information collected by the Palestinian newspaper ‘Filastin’, linked to Hamas, rescue teams have removed more than 40 bodies from the neighborhoods of Maan, Al Manara and Al Salam after the withdrawal of Israeli forces, which for now have not been confirmed. have spoken about what happened.

Thus, the teams continue working in the area to locate possible victims, so it is not ruled out that the death toll may increase in the coming hours.

Relatives of Palestinian journalist Ahmed al Zard have indicated that the reporter has been injured during the operation and have added that several relatives have died, including his brother, his uncle and several of his cousins, as reported by the Palestinian news agency. WAFA.

Hours earlier, two bombings carried out by the Israeli Army against a school and an orphanage that housed displaced people in Gaza City, north of the Palestinian enclave, caused at least 25 deaths and dozens of injuries.

The Israeli offensive was launched after the aforementioned attacks on October 7, 2023, which left some 1,200 dead and nearly 250 kidnapped, according to Israeli authorities. The offensive already leaves more than 41,600 dead, to which are added more than 700 Palestinians killed at the hands of Israeli security forces and in attacks carried out by settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem since that date.
