Israel admitted that Iranian missiles hit military bases

The Israeli military said several air bases were hit by Iranian ballistic missiles, but no serious damage was reported.

The Israeli military said today that the series of ballistic missiles that Iran fired on the evening of October 1 hit office buildings and maintenance areas of several air force (IAF) bases.

However, they assessed all Iranian missiles attacking Israeli air bases as “ineffective”, causing no harm to IAF operations. This force did not suffer any losses in fighters, drones, other aircraft, ammunition depots and important infrastructure.

The Israeli military noted that the IAF has continued its operations after Iran launched nearly 200 ballistic missiles at Israel. IAF fighters attacked the Hezbollah group in Beirut, supported ground forces in southern Lebanon and raided targets in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli health authorities confirmed that one civilian was killed and two people were slightly injured by rocket debris after Tehran’s major airstrike.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said they evaluate the effectiveness of an attack based on the extent of damage to infrastructure, critical assets and casualties, rather than on the number of rockets launched. down to the territory.

The IDF affirmed that its air defense system was successful in preventing Iranian missiles from causing major damage and casualties. This force is also preparing to respond to Iran according to the leadership’s instructions.

This is the first time Israel has admitted that Iranian missiles hit their military base. Previously, the IDF claimed to have “intercepted the majority” of Iranian missiles, but released videos showed a series of shells passing through the Israeli air defense net and crashing to the ground exploding. Geo-referenced data shows that the areas attacked in the videos include Tel Nof and Nevatim airports.

Iranian Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh said 90% of their missiles penetrated Israel’s air defense network and Tehran only targeted enemy military facilities.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it used Fattah hypersonic missiles for the first time in a raid on Israel. However, the Israeli military said that none of the missiles launched into the country were supersonic models as Tehran announced.

At a security cabinet meeting at a bunker near Jerusalem after the attack, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that Iran had “made a big mistake” and “will pay the price”.

This is the second time Iran has attacked Israel in the past 6 months. In April, Iran launched 300 missiles and drones toward Israeli territory. The IDF also announced that it had successfully intercepted most of the weapons from Iran.
