This Saturday (5), the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, criticized the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, after his statement about being in favor of interrupting the supply of weapons to Israel for its offensive in Gaza and Lebanon, and stated that Israel will win “with or without your support”.

“What a shame,” said Netanyahu this Saturday (5), also criticizing the rest of the Western countries that support Macron’s views. The prime minister stated that Iran does not ask for arms embargoes on its allies, such as the terrorist group Hezbollah, pro-Iran groups in Iraq or the Houthis in Yemen, because “the axis of terror” – as this alliance is referred to – stays together.

“As Israel fights against the barbarities led by Iran, civilized countries should take their side,” he said. In the speech, the Israeli leader also said that his military fights “for peace and security in the world”.

With all this, Netanyahu responds to Macron’s statements in an interview broadcast on the radio France Interin which he defended the search for “a political solution” to the conflict in Gaza and suggested the interruption of weapons supplies to Israel.

Macron did not name the countries that should stop selling weapons to the Jewish State, but the United States appears, by far, as the main supplier. The French president also said in the interview that Lebanon “cannot become the new Gaza” and called for a de-escalation of the conflict.
