The Füchse Berlin remain on track in the handball Bundesliga. Thanks to a strong first half, the Berliners won clearly at HSG Wetzlar with 34:25 (20:11). For the Berliners it was their fourth win in their fifth league game. The guests’ best throwers were Lasse Andersson with six and Tim Freihöfer with five goals.
The Foxes initially had some problems finding their way into the game. Wetzlar seemed more attentive and fresher. Keeper Dejan Milosavljev was also unlucky, as he was on to several balls, but the throws still ended up in the goal. So the Foxes were initially behind.
But after a good ten minutes the Berliners woke up with the score at 5:7. The runner-up now acted much more intensively defensively and forced Wetzlar to make more mistakes. Suddenly the hosts hardly managed anything and the Berlin attack machine got rolling. They punished every Wetzlar mistake with merciless efficiency. With a 12:1 run they turned the game around (17:8) and were able to pull away further at the break.
Immediately after the break, the lead reached double digits for the first time (21:11). After that, a few mistakes crept in the defense again and Wetzlar found it easier to score goals. However, coach Jaron Siewert also changed a lot and spared top performers. The Berliners remained confident until the end.
