Israel bombs Beirut targeting Hezbollah positions

Israeli Air Force planes launched this Sunday (6) a series of attacks against strategic Hezbollah positions in the south of Beirut, capital of Lebanon. According to a statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the targets included locations belonging to the terrorist group’s intelligence wing and weapons depots.

Among the facilities hit was a Hezbollah Intelligence building, which housed intelligence gathering equipment and command centers, as well as the group’s other military infrastructure. The attacks resulted in secondary explosions, confirming the presence of weapons in the bombed locations.

“After the attacks, we identified explosions that indicate that weapons were stored in the facilities,” highlighted the IDF. “The terrorist organization Hezbollah deliberately embeds its command and weapons centers under residential buildings, exposing the population of Beirut to danger,” the Israeli army said.

The attacks were not just limited to the Lebanese capital. The Israeli Air Force also bombed positions in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa region known to host several Hezbollah bases. In these areas, other weapons depots, military infrastructure and a group command center were hit, as well as a rocket launch platform.
