General Hadjizadeh awarded Iran’s highest award for missile attack on Israel

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei presented the state’s highest award, the Badge of Victory medal, to the commander of the aerospace forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, who also controls the missile forces.

“The military commander was awarded a medal for his brilliant execution of Operation True Promise, a ballistic missile attack on military bases and spy centers of the Zionist regime,” reports the Tasnim agency, the mouthpiece of the IRGC.

Obviously, this refers to Operation True Promise 2, the name given to the Iranian missile attack on Israel on October 1. According to Iran, it was a response to the martyrdom of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and Brigadier General Abbas Nilforoushan.

Iranian media reported the destruction of several Israeli air bases. Israeli authorities acknowledge that there was damage to the Tel Nof and Nevatim bases, but say that no aircraft were damaged and the strike did not affect IDF operations.
