The Israeli army said it eliminated Suhail Hussein Husseini, the commander of Hezbollah headquarters, in an attack in Beirut. Al Jazeera reports it.
Ltargeted air strike that killed Husseini, “based on intelligence”, occurred yesterday, according to the IDF communication. “The headquarters oversees logistics within the terrorist organization Hezbollah and is responsible for the budget and management of its various units in the organization,” the Israeli army statement explains.
Husseini in particular “played a crucial role in arms transfers between Iran and Hezbollah and was responsible for the distribution of advanced weapons among units” of the Lebanese military movement, “supervising both the transportation and allocation of these weapons. Additionally, he was a member of the Jihad Council, Hezbollah’s senior military leadership council.”
“The headquarters includes Hezbollah’s research and development unit, which is responsible for producing precision-guided missiles and managing the storage and transportation of weapons in Lebanon. In his role, Husseini was responsible for logistics and budget management of Hezbollah’s most sensitive projects, including the organization’s war plans and other special operations, such as coordinating terrorist attacks against the State of Israel from Lebanon and Syria.”
Last night Israeli forces planes once again attacked the southern outskirts of the Lebanese capital. The IDF’s Arabic-speaking spokesperson had previously issued a warning to residents of the area, asking them to do not stay on the beach or in boats on the coast from the Awali River until further notice.
