Osama bin Laden’s eldest son expelled from France after ‘glorifying terrorism’

The eldest son of al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden has been deported from France and banned from returning after making comments on social media glorifying terrorism. This was announced by French Minister of the Interior Bruno Retailleau.

France’s new Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau has signed an order banning Omar Bin Laden, Osama bin Laden’s eldest son, from France. He is said to have glorified terrorism on social media in 2023, on his father’s birthday.

“Bin Laden, who has lived in Orne for several years as the husband of a British citizen, posted comments on his social media in 2023 glorifying terrorism,” Retailleau writes on X. The administrative ban ensures that bin Laden cannot return to France for any reason.” (Read more below the post)

The post from Omar bin Laden’s now deleted account read as follows The Free Publisher: “History is written only with the blood of these people – to tell the story of these martyrs who wrote history, built nations and brought glory. Their blood is the lifeblood of our faith until the day of judgment. Rest in peace.”

Omar Bin Laden, however, maintains his innocence. According to him, “someone from another country” managed to find out the password of his X account and wrote a message under his name. “They weren’t my words.” According to The Parisian Bin Laden has now left for Qatar and is appealing against the decision to expel him from France.

Bin Laden has lived in France with his British wife since 2016. The 43-year-old man painted landscapes in a village in Normandy.
