The Israeli Army announced this Thursday the death of two “commanders” of the Shiite party-militia Hezbollah in two “precise bombings” in southern Lebanon, in the midst of the invasion unleashed last week after nearly a year of fighting with the group in the border area.
“Two Hezbollah terrorists have been eliminated in precise bombings,” he said on his account on the social network “commander of Hezbollah’s anti-tank unit in Mais al Jabal.”
Thus, he stated that Ali was “responsible for hundreds of missile and anti-tank missile attacks against the Kiryat Shmona area”, while Hamdan was “responsible for extensive anti-tank missile attacks against communities in northern Israel.” “We will continue to eliminate Hezbollah terrorists who threaten the lives of our civilians,” he stressed.
On the other hand, it has indicated that its bombings against the Lebanese capital, Beirut, during the night of Wednesday targeted “ammunition warehouses.” “Before the attacks in Beirut, many steps were taken to reduce the possibility of harm to those not involved, including advance warning to the population in the area,” he argued.
“The terrorist organization Hezbollah places its weapons under residential buildings, schools, mosques and universities in the heart of the city of Beirut and endangers the population of the area,” he argued, amid complaints against Israel for the high death toll and destruction caused by their attacks.
Israel describes its invasion of Lebanon, unleashed on October 1, as a “selective and limited” operation against Hezbollah’s “terrorist targets and infrastructure.” The offensive was launched after nearly two weeks of intensified attacks and has been paralleled by an intensification of bombings against the capital, Beirut, and other areas of the country.
Lebanese authorities have reported more than 2,100 deaths from Israeli attacks over the past year, while thousands of people have been injured and nearly 1.2 million have been forced to flee their homes.
The resurgence in hostilities is part of the clashes that have been going on for more than a year, after Hezbollah attacked Israeli territory a day after the attacks carried out on October 7, 2023 by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and other factions. Palestinians, which led Israel to unleash a bloody offensive against the Gaza Strip.
