Israel announces the death of two Hezbollah “commanders” in “precise bombings” in southern Lebanon

Israel describes its invasion of Lebanon, unleashed on October 1, as a “selective and limited” operation against Hezbollah’s “terrorist targets and infrastructure.” The offensive was launched after nearly two weeks of intensified attacks and has been paralleled by an intensification of bombings against the capital, Beirut, and other areas of the country.
