SOHR director comments on recent IDF strikes on targets in Syria

The director of the monitoring group The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), Osama Suleiman, confirms that an Israeli strike on October 9 in the Quneitra area in southern Syria killed former Syrian policeman Adham Jahout, who most recently served with Hezbollah. SOHR does not have information about when exactly Jahout began serving as Hezbollah commander responsible for attacks from the Golan Heights and monitoring the Israeli military. The IDF previously reported the liquidation of Jahut.

Osama Suleiman also reports that the IDF fired several missiles at a target in Jable Marina, where the 47th Brigade of the Syrian Regular Army was based and where representatives of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were located.

Speaking about today’s IDF strike on a target in Hasiyah (Homs province), the director of SOHR notes that this led to the fact that, in addition to military equipment, humanitarian aid trucks arriving from Iraq were burned, and one person was injured.

According to the Israeli side, the Saba plant in Hasiya was used to assemble trucks (under Iraqi license) that transported weapons for Hezbollah.

Commenting on the recent IDF strike on a building in Mezzeh, Damascus, Osama Suleiman states that many representatives of the IRGC, Hezbollah, as well as Iraqi and Afghan militia commanders who previously visited headquarters in the area have been evacuated. But there is a high probability of new strikes that could lead to the death of Syrians living in Mezze. The SOHR director admits that some representatives of the IRGC and Hezbollah command may still remain in the area.
