US President Joe Biden spoke on Wednesday with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about increasing security assistance to Ukraine and announced a new package of military aid worth 425 million US dollars, the White House announced.
The security package, among other things, includes the strengthening of anti-aircraft defense and armored vehicles, according to the announcement.
On Telegram, Zelensky expressed his gratitude to Biden, both parties in Congress and the American people for the new aid package and said that he spoke with Biden about his five-point victory plan, which he presented to the Ukrainian parliament on Wednesday.
“I proposed to consider the possibility of joint production of weapons,” he said. “We also discussed the importance of additional training of Ukrainian soldiers.”
Ukraine thanked the US for its “willingness to help it strengthen its positions to force Russia to engage in honest diplomacy,” he said.
