The staff of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Beirut was evacuated for security reasons

The staff of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Beirut was evacuated for security reasons, AFP reports.

According to the media, the Azerbaijani diplomatic representation in the center of Beirut is located in the same building as the editorial staff of Al Jazeera TV and the Norwegian and Azerbaijani embassies.

“The building’s administration received three phone calls claiming to be from Israel, repeating the order to evacuate the building,” the source told AFP on condition of anonymity.

The interlocutor of the media noted that “the calls were made through the application and it was not possible to determine their seriousness”, so the building with dozens of offices and companies was “evacuated”.
