Six people were killed and 25 injured when a bus overturned in Turkey’s central Aksaray province on Friday. That’s what the local governor says. According to various media, the occupants are Japanese tourists.
Governor Mehmet Ali Kumbuzoglu told reporters it was unclear what caused the accident on the Aksaray-Ankara highway. The bus took passengers from the western province of Balikesir to the Cappadocia region, a popular tourist destination in central Turkey. Various media reports that these are Japanese tourists.
“The injured were rushed to hospital. An investigation into the accident has been launched,” Kumbuzoglu said.
