Exchange of thanks between Erdogan and Roger Waters for the support of "Palestinian brothers"

The former bassist of the legendary English rock band Pink Floyd thanked them through their X account Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for a video posted on the occasion of the first anniversary of the conflict in Gaza. An exchange of messages and thanks between two characters who on paper have very little in common, if not the same position in favor of the Palestinian people.

The video posted by Erdogan has slowly gone around the world, also because shared by figures such as Roger Waters and the former Greek Economy Minister Yanis Varoufakis but also by the UN Representative for the Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese. Few would have imagined that a sharing by the Turkish leader would be appreciated to the point of being relaunched by figures such as the Greek economist and the former Pink Floyd legend.

The video, prepared by the Turkish Ministry of Communication, takes place in a future scenario, and shows the commemorations of the Palestinian genocide in 2040. United States, Japan, Germany, France, England in 2040, a world tour where children watch their parents and grandparents asking them “and where were you?”, “how could this have happened?”, “and you watched all this without doing anything?”. Phrases that embarrass adults, forced to lower their gaze in shame.

The Pink Floyd legend defined the content “smart, empathetic, gorgeous and real“, predicting that the video “will be remembered and seen until 2040” and decided to relaunch it, earning Erdogan’s thanks.

The musician responded to the Turkish leader, thanking him in turn.
