Former US President Donald Trump, Republican candidate, held a campaign rally on the evening of October 18 in Detroit, Michigan. When he was about to talk about one of his favorite topics, tariffs, calling it “the most beautiful word in the dictionary”, suddenly his microphone broke.
Another microphone was given to Trump by an assistant, but it also did not work. The former president looked frustrated, said nothing and walked around on stage for nearly 20 minutes, sometimes turning his back to the audience.
The crowd supporting him continuously chanted “America” and “we love Trump” to encourage him.

Finally, when his assistant gave him a working microphone, the former US president clearly expressed his anger at the organizer. “I will not pay this stupid company. I will not pay and then we have the story of Trump not paying the event contractor,” he said.
Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign reposted a video of Mr. Trump walking around on stage and said he did not have enough energy to become president again.
“Trump was dejected, awkwardly walking around the stage after his microphone broke,” the Harris campaign wrote on social network X.
This is the second time this week that Trump’s rally has been interrupted. Earlier this week, his campaign event in Pennsylvania had to be stopped briefly because two people needed medical attention. The former president at that time asked to end the question and answer session with voters and ended the rally by playing 9 songs for him and everyone to dance for 40 minutes.

In June, the former president was also frustrated when his teleprompter kept failing while he spoke in the hot sun in Las Vegas. “They didn’t remind me, couldn’t read a single word,” Trump fumed. “Trump won’t pay for this shit.”
Famous for being concerned about his personal image and the way his campaigns run, Trump pays close attention to his microphone and teleprompter. Many Fox News hosts joked that the former president also liked to adjust the lighting during interviews.
