IMF corrects economic forecast for Germany downwards

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is correcting its economic forecast for Germany downwards. In the coming year, German economic performance will only grow by 0.8 percent and thus 0.5 percentage points less than predicted in July.

This emerges from the IMF forecast published in Washington. For this year, the IMF expects zero percent growth in gross domestic product, i.e. stagnation.

The IMF’s outlook for the global economy is somewhat better – although not rosy. It is expected to grow by 3.2 percent both this year and next year. The IMF calls the global outlook “stable but not overwhelming” and warns of uncertainties and risks.
