Ivanishvili counters Western assessments

The founder of “Georgian Dream”, wealthy Bidzina Ivanishvili, gave the first interview after returning to politics, contradicting Western assessments that Georgia is retreating from democracy.

In an interview broadcast on “Imedi” TV last night, he said that the blackmail of the “Global War Party” did not work.

“We have a real democracy,” asserted the founder of “Georgian Dream”.

Ivanishvili expressed his belief that “Georgian Dream” will win in the upcoming parliamentary elections, but according to him, difficult times are ahead for Georgia, because they will again try to drag the country into war in order to open a second front.

Ivanishvili and the representatives of the ruling power constantly talk about the danger of war in the pre-election campaign. The opposition considers it a false thesis, through which the government terrorizes the public.
