Pashinyan: We suggest Azerbaijan to sign this agreement already.

In the content agreed as of today, the draft agreement formulates, addresses and resolves all the fundamental issues that are necessary to create solid foundations for peace and regulate relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said today at the BRICS+ summit in Kazan.

“And we suggest that Azerbaijan already sign that agreement,” the head of Armenia stated, also emphasizing that the decision of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia on the border demarcation regulation dispels all concerns and eliminates all arguments regarding the existence of alleged territorial claims to neighboring countries in the main law.

Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that this decision records that such comments are groundless and not legal.

Azerbaijan demands Armenia to change the Constitution, warning that otherwise it will not sign the peace treaty. Baku considers the Declaration of Independence mentioned in the main law of Armenia problematic, in which there is a reference to the unification of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.

Azerbaijan also categorically rejects Yerevan’s proposal to sign the agreed points and to continue negotiations on the non-agreed ones.
