“Come and say that here, you coward”: pro-Palestinian concertgoer annoys Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke until he leaves stage

Thom Yorke, frontman of the band Radiohead, canceled a concert in Melbourne, Australia, on Wednesday evening because he was constantly interrupted by a pro-Palestinian demonstrator.

Footage taken by concertgoers shows a man in the audience shouting comments about “the Israeli genocide in Gaza” and referring to the death toll “half of which are children.”

Yorke then interrupts his performance and addresses the man directly. “Come and say that here. Come on: jump on it fucking stage, and say what you want to say. Don’t stand there like a coward, come over here and say it. Do you want to piss on everyone’s night?”

The protester then shouts: “How many dead children does it take to condemn the genocide in Gaza?”, after which Yorke left the stage. The singer returned a few minutes later to play his last song of the evening.

Yorke has criticized a pro-Palestinian boycott of Israel in the past, and performed in the country with Radiohead in 2017. “Operating in a country is not the same as supporting the government,” it said in a statement at the time.
