US State Department: Hamas rejected Egypt’s proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza

The US State Department published a statement by Foreign Secretary Antony Blinken, who said that the terrorist organization Hamas rejected Egypt’s proposal for a short-term ceasefire in Gaza.

“The Secretary of State noted that Hamas has once again refused to release even a limited number of hostages to ensure a ceasefire and assistance to the people of Gaza,” the US State Department said in a statement following Blinken’s call with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatti.

It is reported that Antony Blinken also had a conversation with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant, during which the need to increase humanitarian aid to Gaza was discussed.

On the evening of November 4, the Keshet-12 TV channel reported that during a meeting with security officials, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the promotion of a new proposal for the Gazans holding captive Israeli citizens. According to the TV channel, for each released hostage, Gazans will be promised safe travel abroad, as well as a large monetary reward (the TV channel claims that we are talking about millions of dollars). The channel’s report noted that after the liquidation of Yahya Sinuar, Netanyahu issued a statement in which he promised not only to spare the lives of Hamas militants who would free the hostages, but also to allow them to leave the Gaza Strip.
