US election: Georgia blames Russia for reports of ballot threats

Secretary of State of Georgia, Brad Rappensperger The Republican said today (third) because Russia is behind many idle reports about possible bomb threats near the polling stations: “We identified the source: he was from Russia.”

“They think they can incite us against each other, they consider it a victory,” the secretary said during a press conference. There has not yet been an official response from the country’s intelligence agencies as to whether Russia is indeed behind the idle reports.

The Georgia Secretary of State’s announcement comes after warnings from federal officials that Russia will expand its efforts to sabotage and disrupt Election Day and beyond. The intelligence agency FBI and other officials informed the media that Russian propaganda operatives are behind several videos and fake reports about falsifying votes in polling stations. Earlier today, the FBI announced that a fake video claimed the agency warned citizens and urged them to stay in their homes.
