Schröder misses out on surprise win with Brooklyn

The Cleveland Cavaliers remain the NBA’s only undefeated team. After a 105:100 home win over the Brooklyn Nets led by national basketball player Dennis Schröder, the Cavs clinched their eleventh win in the eleventh game of the North American Basketball League. Before the final period, it looked as if Brooklyn could pull off a surprise win.

After Schröder sank his fourth three-pointer of the game, the guests led 85:72 eleven minutes before the end of the game. But then the hosts came back step by step and turned the game around in the final minutes with an 11-0 run. The Cavaliers dominated the final quarter with a score of 35:18.

Schröder fought back against the defeat with 22 points, meaning the playmaker scored at least 20 points in seven of his ten games this season. Evan Mobley stood out for the Cavaliers with 23 points and 16 rebounds. The team from Ohio won the first eleven games of the season; only eleven other teams in NBA history have managed such a good start.

Spurs lose despite strong Wembanyama

Victor Wembanyama suffered a 110:111 (45:53) home defeat against the Utah Jazz with the San Antonio Spurs, but the French international still played a strong game. The 20-year-old exceptional talent blocked seven shots and hit six three-pointers; Brook Lopez was the only other player in NBA history to achieve this in 2017. Wembanyama also had 24 points and 16 rebounds.
