According to Aliyev, Yerevan and Baku are close to the final agreement on the peace treaty

In a telephone conversation with the Chancellor of Germany, the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, once again emphasized that “territorial claims against Azerbaijan stipulated by the Constitution of Armenia are still preserved.” At the same time, Ilham Aliyev told Olaf Scholz that the parties are close to reaching a final agreement on the text of the document, and the negotiations will continue after the end of the COP, Azerbaijani mass media reports.

Declaring that Germany supports the establishment of peace and neighborly relations between Yerevan and Baku, Olaf Scholz emphasized that Berlin calls on the parties to take bold steps.

The Chancellor of Germany said that he will not participate in the COP29 summit in Azerbaijan.
