According to Aliyev, Yerevan and Baku are close to the final agreement on the peace treaty

In a telephone conversation with the Chancellor of Germany, the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, once again emphasized that “territorial claims against Azerbaijan stipulated by the Constitution of Armenia are still preserved.” At the same time, Ilham Aliyev told Olaf Scholz that the parties are close to reaching a final agreement on the text of the document, and the negotiations will continue after the end of the COP, Azerbaijani mass media reports.

Declaring that Germany supports the establishment of peace and neighborly relations between Yerevan and Baku, Olaf Scholz emphasized that Berlin calls on the parties to take bold steps.

The Chancellor of Germany said that he will not participate in the COP29 summit in Azerbaijan.

• After receiving the 11th edition of the draft peace treaty, official Yerevan announced that one or two issues remain unagreed.The non-agreed points from Baku were declassified, Yerevan neither denied nor confirmed their authenticity. Two of them, according to Farid Shafiev, head of the analysis center funded by the Aliyev government, refer to the withdrawal of EU observers from the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the exclusion of legal disputes with Armenia.

In response to Baku’s demands regarding the constitution, Yerevan announced that the decision of the Constitutional Court that the border delimitation regulation is in accordance with the Armenian Constitution proves that there are no territorial claims against any country.
